In this unusual version of the Perigraph, the outer edge of the dial and the date rings in yellow contrast strongly with the black rest of the dial. The date and weekday rings are completely open, giving the dial both structure and depth. The centrally positioned single hand calmly rotates around the dial. A small red arrow at 12 o’clock points to the current date and the weekday.
The elegant, slender stainless steel case of the Pangaea Day Date is 40 mm in diameter, water-resistant up to 5 bar, and fitted with a domed sapphire glass over the dial. The movement can be easily viewed through the sixfold screwed glass exhibition back as it performs its high-precision task. The imprint “One of 200” on the glass exhibition back emphasizes the fact that this watch is one of only 100 pieces manufactured.
Inside the Pangaea Day Date ticks the Swiss automatic movement Sellita SW220, which has been specially modified for the single-hand watches from MeisterSinger. At midnight, the two rings that rotate in opposite directions align to form the next day’s date in the blink of an eye. The rotor supplies the automatic movement with a 38-hour power reserve.
Despite its complex mechanical inner workings, the Pangaea Day Date has a profile of only 10.5 mm and is one of the most elegant watches in the MeisterSinger collection. Its novel way of displaying the day and the date with open rings has earned the Pangaea Day Date the Red Dot Award, the German Design Award, and the Good Design Award. Only 100 pieces of this version have been manufactured.
Each line in the outer circle of MeisterSinger’s single-hand watches stands for exactly 5 minutes. The hand is therefore both an hour hand and a minute hand. For example, if the hand points to the fifth stroke after ten, the time is 10:25.
The line hierarchy typical of MeisterSinger single-hand watches additionally divides the time display into half and quarter hours, thus making it easier to read off the time accurately.
