The dial of the Unomat edition has been designed in a matt, deep black look. A small but significant difference to the previous Unomat is that the 5-minute markers are in shades that match the dial. Clearly recognizable when viewed from a distance, yet sufficiently understated to create an even clearer, more robust appearance. The double-digit hour numerals consist of three-dimensional, cast luminous elements that are applied to the dial. During the day they stand out in arctic blue against the black dial and at night they glow particularly intensely because they are thicker and can also absorb and emit light from the sides. The needle-shaped hand, which is relatively broad for a MeisterSinger, and the hour markers are also highly luminous.
The case of the edition watch has been given a jet black carbon coating. The case back and middle section have been matt sandblasted, while the bezel is elegantly polished. The diamond-like carbon (DLC) coating makes this watch particularly hard-wearing and rugged.
The large Swiss Sellita SW400 automatic movement, which is specially modified for MeisterSinger’s single-hand watches, quietly ticks inside the Unomat. The date display is positioned unusually far to the outside of this movement and is therefore 30% larger than on an SW200 movement. It is enclosed by layers of soft iron. This elaborate design makes the movement impervious to the ubiquitous radiation from cell phones, electrical appliances, magnetic fasteners, and laboratory equipment.
The Unomat is the most robust watch MeisterSinger has ever made. The watch is antimagnetic, water-resistant down to 300 meters, has an extra strong back, a screw-down crown, and robust flank protection. This edition also features an arctic blue strap, which emphasises the colour of the hour numerals. In terms of both features and looks, the Unomat resembles a robust scientific device for use in heavy weather, in the laboratory, or in the water. The Unomat was bestowed with the prestigious Red Dot Design Award for its overall design concept. The edition is limited to 50 pieces.
Each line in the outer circle of MeisterSinger’s single-hand watches stands for exactly 5 minutes. The hand is therefore both an hour hand and a minute hand. For example, if the hand points to the fifth stroke after ten, the time is 10:25.
The line hierarchy typical of MeisterSinger single-hand watches additionally divides the time display into half and quarter hours, thus making it easier to read off the time accurately.
